Arthroscopic Minimal Invasive Treatment of Posterolateral Tibial Plateau Impression Fractures

چکیده
Posterolateral fractures of the tibial plateau are difficult to address. Malunion can lead early posttraumatic arthritis knee due instability and elevated joint reaction forces. Arthroscopically assisted percutaneous reduction facilitates visualization avoids open approaches either directly from posterolateral or lateral with optional extension via a epicondylus osteotomy. We describe illustrate minimal invasive technique using an arthroscopic viewing portal. Using this technique, we demonstrated very good clinical outcome excellent patient satisfaction. Key words: Schatzker, tibia head fracture, arthroscopy, multiligamentary injury.

Arthroscopic Management for Tibial Plateau Fractures
Twenty-one tibial plateau fractures with 1 to 5 years follow-up are reviewed for the purpose of demonstrating the positive impact arthroscopy can have on patients sustaining this injury. Controversy between open and nonopen management has existed for decades. Arthroscopy bridges that controversy, allowing the advantages of accurate reduction and rigid fixation without extensive operative exposu...
متن کاملMorphological characteristics of posterolateral articular fragments in tibial plateau fractures.
Treatment of posterolateral tibial plateau fractures is controversial, and information regarding this specific fracture pattern is lacking. The purpose of this study was to elucidate the frequency and morphological features of posterolateral articular fragments in tibial plateau fractures. A retrospective radiographic and chart review was performed on a consecutive series of patients who sustai...
متن کاملCurrent Concepts Part II: Arthroscopic Treatment of Tibial Plateau Fractures: Intercondylar Eminence Avulsion Fractures
Arthroscopic reduction and internal fixation (ARIF) of tibial intercondylar eminence fractures is the emerging state-of-the-art. ARIF is recommended for displaced type III fractures and should be considered for all cases of displaced type II fractures. Fractures without displacement after closed reduction require careful evaluation to rule out meniscal entrapment. Subjective results of ARIF are...

متن کاملArthroscopic management of tibial plateau fractures: surgical technique.
Tibial plateau fractures are serious articular fractures that are challenging to treat. Arthroscopy-assisted percutaneous fixation is the treatment of choice in Schatzker types 1, 2, 3, and 4 fractures, as it ensures optimal reduction and stable fixation consistent with early mobilisation. The most reliable fixation method seems to be percutaneous cannulated screw fixation, which is less invasi...
